What happens when two artists decide to travel within a 2.5 hour radius of their homes to explore Virginia?

An Exhibit is born.....

"Impressions of Virginia"

Dawn Whitmore and I created a plan to explore our home state of Virginia, the idea began as a simple one, share our artwork and personal impressions of the areas explored. However, as one of Dawn's favorite movie quote states: "Simple doesn't meany easy," became a reality as we began to plan and determine which of the multitude of sites, in our wonderful state, we should focus on.

The "Impressions of Virginia" exhibit entailed countless hours of planning, driving, creating and collaborating. Each of the sites chosen were visited once by us together on our chosen day. In some instances, to endure the best use of time, more than one destination was seen in a day. The journey began in June 2021 and our last two sites were in October 2021.

Thank you for journeying with us through the 10 chosen exhibits. To see Dawns artwork for the exhibit, please visit Dawns Website.

All Paintings are framed with a black floater frame.

A collection of landscape paintings both painted in Plein Air or the Studio. Most are centered around the beautiful Virginia countryside and surrounding area. Pastoral views and wooded tree lines that represent the area so well.

A majority of my paintings are unframed, however if they are part of a show or exhibit, they will be for sale framed. Occasionally a painting will have a custom frame made for it and sold as such. If you are interested in a simple plein air frame for one of the unframed pieces, please feel free to contact me for more information and availability.

A collection of floral and Still Life's,  painted both inside and out.

Paintings of our loved furry friends and companions.

A collection of small paintings and studies. Most are in the 6x8 and 8x8 size range, most are unframed.
